Equation Balance
Inverse operations, equalities, and checking solutions.
Open lab →This portfolio presents selected work as cases: what was created, what students were invited to do, what evidence exists, and how classroom ideas evolved into digital learning experiences.
Made for English-speaking learners
Original English-language activities built around guided explanations, mathematical reasoning, and hands-on experiments, with an initial focus on Virginia's 2023 Mathematics Standards of Learning.
Inverse operations, equalities, and checking solutions.
Open lab →Proportional thinking and everyday mathematics.

Open lab →Featured case · Rubik's Cube
The Rubik's Cube project began in 2011 and later continued in other educational contexts. At EMEF Veremundo Toth, the 2023 MATH NEWS record describes students manipulating the cube and being encouraged to learn how to solve it.
Documented school practice
The newsletters make the portfolio inspectable. They preserve activities, student participation, school projects, and the educational language of the period.

Poetry, film, Tangram, four operations, Rubik's Cube, spaghetti towers, leadership, entrepreneurship, and activities across multiple school groups.

OBMEP, Malba Tahan presentations, checkers, chess, operations challenges, Rubik's Cube, spaghetti towers, artistic work, cinema, poetry, and future-project planning.
Challenge-based learning
The portfolio keeps their purposes clear.
A social-engagement initiative using logic and reasoning challenges to stimulate participation and connect learners through virtual competitions.

Research-informed design
This sequence is not a rigid recipe. It is a design lens that appears repeatedly across physical projects, visual tools, games, pathways, apps, and the English-language math labs.
The goal is to help students move from receiving procedures to actively making sense of mathematical structure.
